Getting started is simple. You can reach out to us via our contact form, by email, or by phone. We will arrange an initial, no-obligation conversation to understand your needs, answer any questions you have, and discuss whether our services are the right fit for you.
No, you do not need a formal referral. While we often receive referrals from Support Coordinators and allied health professionals, participants and their families are welcome to contact us directly at any time.
The initial consultation is a relaxed conversation where we get to know you. We will discuss your current situation, what you are hoping to achieve, and any specific preferences you have for your support. It is also an opportunity for you to ask us questions and ensure you feel comfortable with our approach before making any decisions.
Once we have completed your initial consultation and agreed on a support plan, we work to get your support in place as promptly as possible. The exact timeframe will depend on your individual circumstances, but we will always keep you informed every step of the way.
Lanara is best suited to individuals who would benefit from psychology-informed psychosocial support or dignified personal care in the home. If you are unsure whether we are the right match, we encourage you to reach out for a no-obligation conversation. We will always be honest about whether we can best meet your needs.
Psychosocial Support focuses on your mental health, emotional wellbeing, and independence. It helps you build life skills, manage daily routines, connect with your community, and work toward your personal goals. Personal Care Support is more practical in nature, providing dignified assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and daily living tasks.
Yes. We provide support wherever it is most beneficial for you, whether that is in the comfort of your own home or out in the community attending appointments, joining activities, or building meaningful social connections.
It means that every member of our support team holds a university degree in psychology or a related discipline. This allows our team to bring a deeper, evidence-based understanding of mental health, trauma, and behaviour to every interaction, ensuring your support is always informed and not just well-meaning.
Yes, we strongly prioritise consistency. We carefully match you with a dedicated support worker based on your personality, goals, and preferences, and we maintain that relationship because we know that trust is the foundation of meaningful progress. In the event that we need to change your support worker due to unforeseen circumstances, we will let you know as quickly as conveniently possible.
No, we do not provide clinical medical care or nursing services. Our focus is on psychosocial capacity building and practical personal care support. If you require nursing or clinical care, we recommend speaking with a registered clinical provider and we are happy to assist with that conversation.
Our services are accessed through private funding arrangements. We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, as well as individuals paying privately for their support. Please contact us to discuss your specific funding situation and how we can accommodate it.
No, Lanara is an unregistered provider. This means we can provide services to individuals who self-manage or use a plan manager for their funding, as well as those who are privately funded. We are unable to process claims for agency-managed NDIS funding.
Absolutely. We review your support plan regularly and adapt it as your goals, circumstances, and needs change. We believe great support should grow and evolve with you, and we will always be proactive in raising any adjustments we feel would benefit you.
Your support plan is developed collaboratively during your intake process. We listen carefully to your goals, strengths, and preferences, and build a plan that reflects what genuinely matters to you rather than a generic template. Your input is central to every decision we make.
We take all feedback seriously. If at any point you feel your support is not meeting your expectations, we encourage you to raise it with your support worker or contact us directly. We will work with you promptly to understand the issue and find a resolution that you are satisfied with.
We currently provide support across the Sydney region. If you are unsure whether we cover your specific suburb, please reach out to us directly and we will be happy to confirm.
Our office hours for enquiries and intake are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The hours your support is delivered will be tailored to your individual support plan and agreed upon during your intake process.
If your regular support worker is unavailable, we will communicate with you as early as possible. Depending on your preference and the urgency of the support, we can arrange a suitable replacement from our qualified team or reschedule for a time that works for you.
To ensure we can respond effectively, please provide the participant's primary goals, their funding management type (self-managed or plan-managed), any specific risks or behavioural support needs, and their preferred contact method. We aim to acknowledge all new referrals within 24 hours and will advise promptly on our current capacity.
Yes. Our qualified team is trained to provide clear, objective, and outcome-focused progress notes and reports that assist Support Coordinators with plan reviews and goal tracking. Please discuss your reporting requirements with us during the referral process.
