Daily living assistance is practical help with everyday tasks such as meal planning and cooking, household routines, shopping, appointments, budgeting and getting around on public transport. It is part of our Personal Care Support service. Under the NDIS it is usually funded from Core supports, in the category the NDIA calls “Assistance with daily life”. We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants and private clients across Sydney’s inner, southern and eastern suburbs.

Whether you need help planning your week, managing appointments, getting on top of household tasks or building skills for more independence, our support workers work alongside you. The aim is to help you do things yourself, not to do them for you.

We often provide daily living support for people living with depression, intellectual disability, autism or ADHD. See all the conditions we support.

Support that builds real independence.

We believe that the best daily living support is the kind that gradually becomes less necessary. Our goal is not to create reliance. It is to help you develop the skills, routines and confidence to manage your own life on your own terms.

We build routines around your goals, not a standard program

We teach skills alongside you, not just do things for you

A psychology-informed approach to daily living

Daily living challenges are often connected to confidence, anxiety, or planning and organising, not just practical ability. Every one of our support workers holds a university degree in psychology or a related discipline and has completed mental health and trauma-informed training. They understand what can make everyday tasks feel hard, and they bring that awareness to every session.

Practical support for the everyday stuff.

Daily living assistance covers the practical tasks that keep life running, from managing appointments and correspondence to grocery shopping and getting around the community. We support you to handle these things with growing confidence, so that over time they become part of your own routine rather than something you need help with.

Frequently asked questions

Daily living assistance can cover a wide range of practical tasks depending on your goals and support plan. Common areas include meal planning and preparation, household organisation, budgeting and managing finances, using public transport, attending appointments, grocery shopping, and developing routines that help your day run more smoothly. The support is always tailored to what you need and what you are working towards.

Our goal is always to build your independence, not your reliance on us. We work alongside you, teaching skills, building routines and giving encouragement, so that over time you feel more capable and confident managing daily tasks on your own. As your skills and confidence grow, the hands-on help you need can reduce.

Daily living assistance is part of our Personal Care Support service. Personal care focuses on physical care tasks such as grooming, hygiene, dressing and morning routines. Daily living assistance is broader and covers the practical skills and tasks involved in managing everyday life, such as cooking, budgeting, transport and household management. Many participants receive both types of support, and we can discuss what combination makes sense for you.

Absolutely. Daily living assistance is particularly well suited to participants who are working towards greater independence, whether that means moving into their own home, managing their own schedule, or simply becoming more confident with everyday tasks. We build your support plan around your specific independence goals and adjust it as you progress.

No. While many of our participants are funded through the NDIS, daily living assistance is available to anyone who would benefit from it. If you are self-funded or accessing support through another arrangement, we are happy to discuss your options. Get in touch and we can talk through what is available to you.

It is usually funded from the Core supports budget in your NDIS plan, under the category the NDIA calls “Assistance with daily life”. The NDIA says this category can pay support workers to help with everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning. We can work with you if your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, but not if it is NDIA-managed (agency-managed). If you are not sure what your plan covers, talk to your support coordinator or plan manager, or call us on 1300 152 627 and we will help you work it out.
