Lanara provides psychosocial support, social participation, personal care and daily living assistance to adults in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, including Randwick, Kensington, Kingsford, Maroubra, Coogee, Bondi and Bondi Junction. We are a family-owned provider based in Marrickville, and we support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants and private clients.
The Eastern Suburbs cover three council areas, Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra, from the university and hospital precinct around Kensington and Randwick to the beaches between Maroubra and Bondi. Across the NDIA’s South Eastern Sydney district, which includes these councils, 10.4% of NDIS participants have a primary psychosocial disability, above the NSW rate of 8.6% (NDIS data, June 2026).
Who can use Lanara in the Eastern Suburbs?
We support adults in the east who live with psychosocial disability, mental health conditions or other complex needs, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other conditions that affect daily life.
We support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, as well as private clients who fund their own support. If your NDIS plan is agency-managed (NDIA-managed), you will need to use a registered provider.
Which Eastern Suburbs do we support?
- Randwick City: Randwick, Kensington, Kingsford, Maroubra, Coogee, South Coogee and Clovelly
- Waverley: Bondi Junction, Bondi, Bondi Beach, North Bondi, Bronte, Tamarama, Queens Park and Waverley
- Woollahra: Paddington, Woollahra, Edgecliff and Double Bay
We are based in Marrickville, on the other side of the inner city, so we plan Eastern Suburbs support carefully to make sure it is consistent. Before we start, we will be upfront about which days and times we can reliably cover your suburb.
What support do we provide in the Eastern Suburbs?
Psychosocial support. Our workers hold degrees in psychology or related fields. They help you shape a routine that works, manage the pressures that build up, keep appointments on track and keep your goals moving.
Social participation. Help to reconnect with your community, whether that is a class at Bondi Pavilion, a swim at Des Renford or a coffee at a cafe you have been meaning to try. Read What Is Social Participation Support? to see how it works.
Personal care. Respectful support with showering, dressing and grooming, at your pace and in the way you prefer.
Daily living assistance. Help with meals, cleaning, shopping at Bondi Junction or Randwick, paperwork and getting to appointments.
Where can support take you in the Eastern Suburbs?
- Bondi Pavilion, restored and reopened in 2022, has an art gallery, cultural spaces and a pottery studio, and runs a program of community events.
- Des Renford Leisure Centre in Maroubra has indoor and outdoor pools and accessible facilities.
- Coastal walks: the Bondi to Coogee walk is 6 km but has many steps and is not fully wheelchair accessible. Marks Park in Tamarama has a level path and an accessible lookout, which can be a good first goal. We will help you choose a section that suits you.
- Getting around: the L2 and L3 light rail lines run from the city through Moore Park to Randwick and Kingsford, and Bondi Junction is the end of the Eastern Suburbs train line. We can help you plan and practise routes.

What makes Lanara different?
Family-owned and personal. Our leadership team is directly involved in day-to-day support, and every client relationship matters to us. Read our story.
Degree-qualified workers. Our psychosocial and social participation workers hold degrees in psychology or related fields, and here is why mental health training matters.
Honest about coverage. We would rather tell you what we can reliably cover than overpromise. When we take you on, we aim to keep the same worker with you so they genuinely get to know you.
Prepared from day one. With your permission, we ask your Support Coordinator to brief us before your first session, so you do not have to repeat your story.
Are you a Support Coordinator or health professional in the Eastern Suburbs?
We are happy to take referrals from Support Coordinators and treating professionals around Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra for self-managed and plan-managed participants and private clients. Before accepting, we will confirm we can staff the referral consistently, and once support starts we keep you informed. Make a referral.
How do I get started?
Start with a no-obligation conversation, by phone or online. We will listen, answer your questions, check we can cover your suburb reliably and explain how we might help. Our step-by-step guide explains what happens next. If having someone new in your home feels daunting, our guide to feeling at ease with a support worker at home may help. Family members and carers are welcome to contact us on your behalf, with your permission, and our guide for families and carers explains how we can support you too.

Frequently asked questions about support in the Eastern Suburbs
You are based in Marrickville. Can you really support me in the Eastern Suburbs?
Yes, and we will be honest with you about it. Before we start, we will confirm which days and times we can reliably cover your suburb, so your support is consistent rather than patchy.
Can support include time at the beach or on the coastal walks?
Yes, where it fits your goals. We will help you pick places that match your energy and mobility, such as the level path at Marks Park rather than the steeper sections of the Bondi to Coogee walk.
Can you help me get to appointments at Prince of Wales Hospital or in Bondi Junction?
Yes. Getting to and from appointments is a common part of our support. Your support worker can help you plan the trip, travel with you and help you keep track of what was discussed.
Does Lanara accept NDIA-managed plans?
No. We support self-managed and plan-managed participants and private clients only.
Can I meet my worker before support starts?
Yes. After intake, we can arrange an introductory meeting so you can get a feel for each other before anything is locked in.
